Blindly Created Music

Braille might be an interesting way to convert words to music. Use some algorithm to assign each of the six possible dots in a Braille character a tone and duration, then play a chunk of text per that conversion. The conversion algorithm could be simple, a straight mapping, all the way through to extremely complicated, where tones and durations are dependent on the other dots in the character and/or preceding and successive characters. The possibilities are endless!
