As I was out walking this morning I heard this strange squeaking noise. I looked around, trying to determine where it was coming from, and eventually traced it to a tree. "That's a funny sound for a bird", I thought. Then I spied something nestled between the trunk and a few branches. "Oh look, a big nest! Is that where the sound is coming from?"
And then I realized: "That's no nest! That's a racoon butt!"
Two of them, actually. The squeaking noises I heard were two raccoons, happily ensconced in the tree, chattering away at each other. Talking about this weird human staring at them, no doubt!
